Took Mike out to the Arm on a cold Saturday morning. We hit a bunch of deep holes from buoy 1 to up past buoy 3. The eyes were very neutral and only seemed to be interested in a reaction type lure. Unlike the previous weekend, none of the 30+ eyes we caught coughed up any perch. I cleaned 8 and only two had crayfish in their gullet. I did catch 1 eye and 1 burbot on a blade bait. Everything was deep, 65 to 70 fow. We tried shallower but no joy.

Looks like jigging is a natural heat source. Brrrr... nice report

It's burbot time. These are just small male recon troops. The females will be along in a little while

AM the burbot fishing will only get better the closer to winter we get. Just use the same lures you would for walleyes I.E. jigs, dropshots, and blade baits. Anything with chartreuse in or on it will usually be my go to bait for burbot. I tend to catch a lot of them and I really never even try to. Deep holes from Porcupine Bay upriver to buoy 5 should get you in the right areas.
