Silver bullets are here again! This was my first Columbia River Kokanee limit in over 2 years. (yes just 2)
They are not in great numbers, nor in just one area. They are scattered and not schooled up. My focus was just on this species. I fished hard in the early morning concentrating on large bays. I tried many combinations of colors and speeds. Nothing worked until I was forced to slow down, when a boat cut in front of me. Several boats gathered close by, after they watched me net my first fish. These fish are bashful, and easily bothered. I noticed less and less marks 30 minutes after more boaters arrived. I decided to relocate to a less frequented area. I located a spot that seemed to hold fish. It took almost 2 hours to finally land a beauty. Perserverance paid off for both me and our Gonzaga bulldogs in our first round game. Whew!

Con, Way to go on your limit of Werewolf Ammunition! :) Nice strategy and way to persevere... I Have found the same thing. Despite the lower water that should concentrate fish, I haven't found much for schools either. Perhaps with warmer weather they will congregate more. I guess on our upcoming trips we'll find out. Nice going and keep up the rhythm!
Nothing like seeing that bright silver flash knowing this time it's not a trout.

Jedi, Part-time,
appreciate your feedback. I expect to return to the same area, later this week. There is nothing like seeing a jumping silver salmon 150' behind the boat, before realizing that it's you, that's hooked up.

Nice harvest, worth the "hunt" . Roosevelt kokes are beyond sporting fish, the best table fare bar none. Make even the walleye lovers drool.....

Ditto that.. The sockeye is the prize of all salmons in flavor:) I do have to say however that I really love the flavor of brook trout and they are right up there too for my palate...
