Glenn and I took one for the team and spent our Veterans Day on the Arm. It was 20 degrees when we launched out of Porcupine Bay launch. Spent most of the day around buoy 1 fishing the deep holes above and below the buoy. Jigs and jigging raps in perch faired best overall. We caught over 50 eyes but only kept about 10 or so, the rest were dinks. Glenn also got a solid jump for the burbot king crown by catching 6 today. Amongst our group I have held that crown for about 10 years. I am not trying to catch the dumb things but it seems to work out that way. Maybe this year will be different. The Arm is still in the low 50s for water temperature. We proved today that if you can find the eyes, they should be pretty active. Thanks to all of the other veterans who have sacrificed so much for the other 99%. Most of us did/do it because we love this country.

We've all done our part and I am glad I still get to support the active duty through training. They are still on the front lines of a very dangerous world. I've had worse than a little cold weather to deal with. This is one of the best times of year to be on the water because most people have given up until the warm weather returns. More eyes for us.

Nice work Mark! I will take all the burbots, they are tasty. What depth did they seem to be hanging around at?

NW the burbot were caught in 55 to 70 FOW on jigs while we were fishing for eyes. Burbot generally like chartreuse colored plastics. At least up the Arm.

Thanks Mark, I have done good around Buoy 5 and caught a few at the head of Porcupine Bay. Hoping to find some more spots this winter. Haven`t caught them anywhere else.
