Targeted Kokanee trolling hoochies but struck out. Talked to another group of anglers who went all the way from 7 bays to the mouth of the San Poil and did atleast land one 18" kokanee after a full day of fishing. The trout fishing was good as usual. We caught many limits worth keeping only the largest and fattest fish for smoking. It was a beautiful day to be out and I have never seen so many anglers taking advantage in the winter. We saw atleast 30 shore fisherman, including 1 angler who was passed out in a launch chair ("I think he blew the frost off a couple too many") heard of some anglers getting some walleye too. Best lure colors for us were anything in the typical orange, pink and chartreuse spectra.

Curious- on lures what types? In past I’ve used wedding rings, double whammy, silver Kokabow gear, and k flies, w sporadic results. Are you using scents and how deep? Thx

DABL, all the gear you mentioned is ideal, just keep it in the top 15 feet as the fish have been high in the profile. Also, as hewes eluded to; the trout nearer to the Columbia and downstream are healthier, bulkier and larger than those up toward Porcupine. Also, there is both good shore and boat fishing right around Fort Spokane from both above the bridge and downstream. as much as I enjoy going way down river, there are good numbers to be had within a short distance from the launches. Good luck and have fun.

*Correction I mean "Part-time's" comment about the fish being larger

Nice haul Jedi, and correct, this time of year the 'bows are typically in the top 15'. Any trolling fly in orange, yellow/orange, black/orange, black/red, or my perennial favorite "perch pattern" will do well. My go to flies all come from Kekeda Tackle Company and you can find them on Etsy.

Ty Hewes for sharing. I have some of those and they are quality ties and colors. Trollers can't go wrong on Roosey with Kekeda morcels.
