We were on the lake from 9am to 1pm. The water temperature was 60 degrees. It was sunny with clouds that blocked the mountain from view. The water level was 1192.47 with full pool level at 1207.
I went from 20-39 feet on the downrigger. Longlining, I was using a 1/2oz weight, I think and my son had a 1/4oz. We used maggots, corn, and pieces of nightcrawlers. We went from .09 to 1.7mph. My son caught a kokanee at 1.7mph.
We got 4 trout and 3 kokanee in the boat and lost that many or more at the boat. Lots of bites. The kokanee all had the adipose fin removed.

It was an amazing day. The funny part was my son said he was going to take a nap while we were out on the boat but it was too busy for a nap.

Nice truck, trailer and boat though you'd think a marina would have all the loyal customers names as well since they paid more for it all..... very showy display. On the video (thanks for that) you had 4 fish hooked for 30 seconds and 2 hooked for 60 secs. without seeing the rod tip move. Either your DR leader with camera is attached on the weight or the release clip is not effective (too tight tension or loop in line around the clip pads) or you just don't notice the bites. I also fish 2-pole and have a bell on one rod tip and both tips wrapped with short pieces of aluminum foil to see them move better. Hope that helps your net ratio.

Thank you for the comment.
The truck and trailer is launching and I suscept that they were a bass person who was sponsored by Nixon Marine.
I use the same clips for salmon or trout. In freshwater they hardly ever pull them out of the clip. Many times I know I don't see the bite! Netting fish, watching out for others, or sight seeing! The fish can bite and then swim toward the boat.
One item you forgot are the hooks are dull!

AH... that would explain it. Salmon need a much tighter clamp due to the far more depth and boat bucking the waves/current encountered fishing different areas. The weight would be much bigger also. Your hooks are fine as the fish are hooked right at first good bite and hold on until the fish rips the side of it's mouth or cheek out and gets off the line before DR lets go. This is due to the hardly-any-give in the stout DR line and rigged closer to the weight connection = less give, so total time the fish is hooked while on DR = more damage to the fish. I use a bell, doorbell wire and a homemade aft-facing red LED light that signals a bite when the line moves to make electrical contact.Common clothespin with contacts at each side ends of clothespin. Fish pulls on line (1# pull) and light on. I should probably patent that......lol.

Whoops..... if you change to an adjustable clip or one just for Trout/Kokanee, your net ratio will improve greatly. Dropping from 30-40# salmon to a Kokanee at 1-2# is quite a difference. I have watched/enjoyed most all of your videos since I joined in 2016.
A better clip would increase your previous 35% net ratio by adding 15-30%. No more losing 1/3 of hooked fish to the downrigger weight before the net. I hope you try this and let us see the outcome. Keep the videos coming!
