Came here after finding too may people to be able to fish from shore at Horseshoe lake (Spokane Count). A buddy of mine told me to just stop fishing the West Plain lakes for the summer and I think he is right. One old guy was at the east side of the launch by the concrete path. I took up on the NW end of the launch to start with. A guy on a kayak had paddled in while I was at this spot and said he didnt get a bite at all. No bites for me. I then went over by the bush on the north end. Nothing. it was hot and a bit windy but still fishable. Someone either dumped a boat, or maybe hauled a boat in off the lake that had been abandoned. I dunno. Took pictures of it and sent the pics to WDFW and Spokane County Sheriff in case it had been reported as stolen. It looked inoperable. The were drag marks made by skag from the shoreline but hard to say how it ended up here. I decided to head from here to Fish Lake (which was a mistake, I should have just went home). I also told the WDFW guy that the dried up feces smeared on the wall in the old vault toilet was still there which I had told him about a month ago. So go use the two newer ones, dont use the old one, its nasty. I didnt hear or see any fish topping either.
Maybe Spokane County lakes are facing some poaching issues? I dont know. I've never had a run of bad luck in the past as I have had this year.
