Arrived at The lake about 6am, used brother in-laws boat and new 9.9 outboard. Started off using wedding rings and worms, caught a few 10 inchers but the trolling speed seemed to be to much. Changed gear after about an hour to ford fender and red wedding ring. Again caught a dozen or so 10 inchers. Wind picked up so we found a cove and anchored to do some still fishing. Had the fish finder on and it continued to sound off as fish swam by. My five year old son using a 4 ft ultra light ugly stick ended up hooking and reeling in 2 trout around 18 inches (with a little help). We caught a few more over 12 and allot of smaller ones using every color power bait you could think of. Color wasn't a problem. The weather changed quickly and we headed in after 12pm in the face of a rainstorm. The real fish story began as we were loading the boat. A older gentleman pulled in and said he had caught just one fish. The "one" fish was huge. It didn't even fit in his net. I got out my scale and tape!
and the lunker was 27 inches long and weighed a stout 5lbs. One of the largest fish I've seen in years. He told me what he used, but I will leave that for another day. was a great day, even better with my son. Be a sport, Take a kid fishing. See ya
