We arrived at the Lake around 1pm as the temp. was in the upper 80's with no breeze at all and the lake was not crowded either making it easy to launch the boat immediatly. We decided to troll for the first few hours, much to the dislike of my buddy Dave the baitfisherman. I put on a black fatfish with glitter size F3. Not more than twenty yards out of the launch I had my first strike a nice fat 12 incher I released back to get bigger. I hooked and landed several more fish between 10 and 12 inches that were fat and chunky before Dave complained about trolling again and especially with him only getting a few bites and not landing any fish. I finally convinced him to put on a black flatfish with red spots in the same F3 size that I loaned to him(or sold to him if he lost it) He could have had the same one too but when I showed it to him in the tackle shop he said he did not need that color, I knew it would catch alot too just because he did not buy it . I then told him that the fish were only about twently pulls out and riding the surface. He immediatly started to land fish and seem to grow alittle enthused, not as happy as he would be fishing his power bait though but the constant grumbling stopped. It was one of the most beautiful days I have ever fished the lake. I scaled down two shorts and a tank top due to the heat, which did not bother the fish as we kept catching and releasing them and both having a ball now. This has to be one of the more quieter big lakes with spectacular balsic cliffs sourounding the both sides of the lake. We decided around 6pm to keep some eaters and Dave grew tired of steering the boat from the front. We finally went to our spot to baitfish and immediatly started hooking larger fish in the 16 inch range giving us some great battles on the ultralite bait tackle we were using. We even had two bigger fish that broke us off after several minute battles. We kept a total of 5 fish between the two of us and cooked them for dinner and they were great. We found a spot to camp and the next day I let Dave decide whether to troll or baitfish and it was baitfishing. We got started late again due to no alarm and no incentive to get up early due to the fish biting all day previosly. We move to another spot we had fished the previos year and Dave had his day with lures and bait using both and really creaming me left and right at about a 4 to 1 trout ratio until finally I hooked on to a nice 17 incher that turned out to be the biggest fish of the day. We both got our limit of really nice trout by 1pm and left to explore some other lakes.
