I trolled the lake Sat with a homemade wedding ring/double whammy tipped with fat crawlers while trailing behind some baby cowbells. I limited within 5 hours. The trout I boated were nothing compared to the ones I lost. Our 8-lb. leader was not strong enough for my two buddies or me. Something big broke our lines at various times throughout the day, carp, walleye? I fished with a downrigger between 15 and 45 feet. At 45 feet I was trolling a husky jerk when I landed my deep one. We trolled all the major areas but had the best luck along Medicare Beach for trout and along the dam for bass. We had no luck in the dunes or around Goose Island. Many people did very well right off the dock at Mar Don using a hook and worm.
