I recently made a trip to Battle Ground lake and hooked into some good sized brood-stock trout. I was using a countdown Rapala on the north side of the lake when I hooked into a twelve pounder. I also pulled in a few three pounders. For some reason I was only catching larger fish, but when I returned a couple days later I could only catch 10-12 inch trout. Many people on the bank were using power bait which seemed pretty sucessfull. Using about a three foot leader to get the bait out of the weeds they were bringing in many smaller trout The olive green Wooly Bugger was also producing large amounts of fish for the fly fishermen.
