My wife and I and my dog took the canoe out on this large lake to enjoy the sunshine early on Sunday (wind was strong at times, but mostly reasonably calm). We saw few others out on the lake and no one fishing from shore or in float tubes. I was surprised how low the visibility was on this lake and was told from a local that the grimy green water was normal. I caught more green algae than anything else and I never even caught a glimpse of the legendary Lahontan cutthroat that cruise these waters. We enjoyed the sunshine and explored the Lake Lenore Caves - so it was still fun. On the way out I examined some of the green scum that I snagged and saw that it was covered in an almost exact match to the shiny green scuds in my fly box.
