Managed about 10 fish to net from about 20 takes while fishing chironimids. Not bad, but it took 8 hours!! Still some large fish, 18-20", but the majority were recent planters. Weather about 50-55 degrees with howling wind and waves that usually cause Amber to excel, but not today. The fish are just too spread out. It's hard to find an area that yields more than 2-3 fish. As of late I'm not seeing the thick hatches that are an Amber trademark, only the spotty hatches of small midges that come and go. For this reason I'm still using small zebra midges and WD40s that gain more attention than larger patterns. Good luck to all!!
