Lake Mayfield is open all year for fishing.
April 28, 2006

Today the lake surface temperature was 56° at 11:30 PM. The wind was gusting from the SW at 5 - 8 MPH.

Large Mouth Bass - The weed growth in the lake has been started to show some bright greem growth. Look for Bass near the newly developing weeds and off the deep points.
Smallmouth Bass - No news on Bronze Backs yet.

Rainbows / Kokanee - We found the Rainbows. There are suspended over deep water now. Trolling under the Hwy 12 Bridge and near the Mossyrock Dam had been productive. J&K Mini's with Pink or Red Wedding Ring dressed in worms bits are doing the trick now.
Perch - A few small perch were caught this past week. Wax worms on a small jig did the trick.
Cut Throat - A couple of Cut Troats were caught and released this past weel. The fell for a Dick Nite in Silver & Red. We have seen better numbers of large adult Stone fly's a good distance from the moving water where they hatched from. There has also been a nice hatch of small sooty brown colored Caddis coming off in the early afternoon.
Tiger Musky - The Tigers are visible now patroling the back bays and shallows. We had a follow on a Orange & Black Shallow Dog Thursday night. Look for the bite to pick up as we get more sunny days and warmer water.
