Back to Medical today...anticipated another damsel hatch like one I'd observed a couple days ago. Not today, though, in fact there were very few insects coming off despite temps in mid 80s and water at 60. No takes on damsels so switched over to chironimids, a dual rig with black up top and olive below. Started getting takes immediately despite the absence of bugs. Managed 4 bows, 2 browns and 1 tiger and lost 3 others in the next hour and a half or so. All the rainbows took black and the browns and tiger tooi olive. Weird, huh? The bite abruptly ended so I went back to basics, ie bloodworms that I haven't used in several weeks. Right back on them for next 30 minutes, 2 large bows, 1 brown, 1 lost and 1 snapped off. I love this lake!!! Will maybe return this evening to thrown dry flies after sun begins to set and browns begin their evening ritual.
