The recent heat wave that we are experiencing in eastern Washington is having an effect on the area lakes.
Got on the water at 8:30 this morning. The surface temp of the water was 78 degrees and the bottom temp. @ 30 ft. was 65 degrees. That is very warm for this time of the year. It is only the first of July! I hate to think of what the temp. is going to be the middle of August.
The majority of the fish shown on the fish finder were at 15 ft and below. I caught 3 rainbows, 14",16" & 18". I lost 4 that were in the same size range. The fish aren't concentration on damsels any longer. I got all of the fish on a black Wooly Leech.
The action was good up til about noon, when it slowed and the hot sun drove me off the lake.
Fish it early and deep.
