Me and my Father-in-Law went out to Trout lake today. This is my first time at this lake and I have to say that at first I was a little mad. They call this Trout lake, but the first 3 hours yielded nothing, not even a bite. But being with the more expierenced fish mate he guided the boat into a place that looked good. It was hour 4 and whamo, he lands a 14" rainbow. Not only was it long but FAT as well. Then I got one about 15" and fat too. All in all we, he laned 5 and I laned 1, had a good day of fishing. We pulled out of one of the fish 2 minnows that looked to be bass. All the fish we caught were bigger than 12" and all fat. We let 3 go and the other 3 died while extracting the hook. Hopefully nobody lands the other 3 and we can catch them again later in the fall. There is a good breeding ground for bass, which I have yet to catch.
