Went out to Langlois Saturday evening, once the water had cooled off a bit and buddies and I began trolling wedding rings w/ worm and a rooster tail as well. Normally in my previous experience here this has been the ticket, but this night the fish weren't having it so we decided to stop in one of the little coves in the lake and do some still fishing. We did this using simple power eggs and before long my friend Sam had a nice chunky 12 incher landed. After a while longer I hooked into one about the same size and got him to the boat where he broke my knot, which clearly wasn't tied well. Another hour or so passed and we were about to call it a night when I felt a nibble. I grabbed the rod and it felt heavy so I set the hook hard and the fight was on. This guy was about a inch or 2 longer than the others and about as fat and did he fight like hell for a little guy. The second he saw the boat he got to jumping and shaking and trying to go under the boat, but I wasn't losing another one and we wore him out. I hoped for a couple more but was glad to see the summer evening bite is alive.

For the bass fans, I saw guy in a tube working the shoreline all over the lake and he seemed to have constant action on the little 7-10 inchers all over the fallen longs and debris.

Tight lines.
