Pend Oreille Pike Fishing

by Mike Carey, May 16, 2011
The Pend OReille river is a tributary to the Columbia river. It is a mixed species river, with trout bass, panfish, and pike. The river level fluctuates and is controlled by the Box Canyon dam. Of note, the Pend OReille has been in the spotlight for it's pike population, seen by many anglers as a great sportfish, but seen by the WDFW as an invasive species which needs to be greatly reduced. Netting policies have caused for strained relations between WDFW and many sport anglers.

Really nice video! We are so blessed to have so many different fisheries to choose from in WA.

Where were you at in the video again? I could make out what the name of the first place you said was and I have never heard of Indian slough. Really good video though.

I honestly couldn't tell you. Shelby took us back into some channels and ended up at the cool irrigation water falls though.
