Took Glenn out to the Arm. We launched at first light and headed down river to try a couple of main Porcupine Bay points. In 5 hours we caught 5 eyes. 4 were eaters and the other was too large to keep. Then we headed up. We started at buoy 1 and worked our way up. In the next 3 hours we caught about 25 eyes. Glenn only wanted to keep about a dozen eaters. We cleaned 13 eyes between 16 and 19 inches. Everything else was 20 to 25 inches. Although we tried blade baits and jigging raps we only had luck with jigs. We were definitely outnumbered by the trollers today. If you plan on going above buoy 3 you have to know where the channel is. Even then you might find yourself in less than 10 FOW so be extra cautious.

BRADF it was tough day until the afternoon. No need to get an early start I guess. Plus it was pretty chilly this morning.

Good to see the cat litter bucket back in action.

After we fillet the eyes we soak them in lake water to get any leftover blood out of them. That along with cutting the gills about 30 minutes before we're done really removes the blood from the fillets. It is also a good use of the bucket.

Thanks for the report Mark. Is the water temp. on the Spokane really above 40? On the Columbia I've had under 37 the last 2 trips. I assume the water on the Spokane isn't as stained this week as last. Thanks...

The Arm is pretty clear and the temperature is 40 or more. Especially as the day heats up.

Can't wait to try my jigging technique there. Mr Mark you are the king of the Arm. I hope to one day be able to worthy of your shadow. ...seriously. I try to jig for a couple hours and always revert to trolling. I shoukd use more patience but I'm coming from afar.

Morrow. We probably make at least 200 casts during an outing. Even with all of the practice my arms are still worn out by the end of the day.
