Went with Glenn to Porcupine Bay. I have been having a terrible 3 months of walleye fishing and was hoping this trip would be better. It was. We decided to go way upriver, above buoy 5. Never had a bite upriver or anywhere near buoy 5. FYI the tribe has put out 4 gillnets in the upper narrows above buoy 5. They are not in any areas where they could be expected to catch pike so not sure why they are out. Anyway, we headed back down to Porcupine Bay and eventually found some eyes on the big flat near Mccoy's. We kept drifting and casting jigs in 35 to 55 FOW. We caught 25 eyes, 1 smallie and 1 21 inch trout. We cleaned 20 nice eaters and released an 11, a 9 and a 7. I also caught and released a beautiful 5 lb smallie. A motor oil 3 inch grub on a 1/2 oz jig was most productive.

Hi Mark, Thanks for all your reports. Any thoughts on the walleye this weekend? Been trying to get my son into some with little luck. He and grandpa met Glenn first time last week at the launch and he was nice enough to share some info. Seems like this spring is not typical with the high water. Thanks.

Kevin
